We hope this email finds you and your family safe, healthy, happy, and well.  And just like that, it’s a wrap for 2022.

2022 was another year of indifference, challenge, and change. We saw borders relax, interstate and overseas travels resume and for some of our teams, some normality with the resumption of home and away fixtures with the occasional hub thrown in.

For all of us no doubt, managing our work environment was challenging throughout 2022. With covid disruptions, with ourselves and colleagues needing long overdue leave to see family and friends, all the while with an ever-changing covid compliance landscape to navigate.

We wish to extend a very big thank you to all of you for your patience, trust and flexibility where required again this year to assist us in successfully navigating 2022.

Thank you for your ongoing support. For being such an important part of our story and our journey. Also thank you for allowing us, for entrusting us, and inviting us to be part of yours.

We welcomed Darshinee to our team of fabulous podiatrists here at Peak. Darshinee fits in exceptionally well here, and we look forward to the many years that she will spend with us, and the many memories we will make with her.

We witnessed our podiatrist Lewis, complete the Rotto Swim with his teammates, ‘The Buoys’. Finishing with a pat-on-the-back-worthy time of 06:40:31.93

It was great to hear feedback from our peak patients that competed in the swim as well.

March brought along a chance for us to celebrate the women’s in and around Peak with International Women’s Day on March 8th. We took the chance to say to the caring, fierce, courageous, compassionate ladies of Peak – Thank you, and we love and treasure each of you and couldn’t be prouder of you.

Writing history with new heroes being made. Great start to day 1 by the lads and wishing them best of luck heading into day 2. PEAK is very proud to have been involved with WA cricket for over a decade and see first hand the hard work everyone has put in over the years to reach this point.

Peak went regional to Geraldton. We presented to Todd Teakle and the Allied health team at Central West Health & Rehabilitation.

Mother’s Day came around quick and we celebrated the mum’s of Peak!

We saw lots of patients smash goals and get medals this year, starting off with our patient Maggie, who brought home 2 Gold, 2 Silver and 1 bronze in her Australian Masters Games 2022 – Dragon Boat Racing. This event had been cancelled 3 times due to COVID. It is always nice getting feedback from our patients and their achievements.

Commonwealth Games was fast approaching and we had many athletes coming in for their final tune ups in the months prior to ensure they were at their #peak. Here we have Meg from Hockeyroos before they headed to a pre-games tournament in Spain.

We presented to the team at Sports Physio Group in Bentley. Sharing knowledge and gaining knowledge, as always.

And then we headed to Performance Pilates to run an information night. Keeping in constant contact with other local allied health services is important to us to ensure we are providing our patient with the most aligned services and support.

June marked off the halfway point for 2022. We celebrated as a team by heading into town in our best 70’s attire to catch up and have a little boogie.

July made history! West Coast Fever (Netball) became champions of the National competition. What a great achievement, and to achieve this in front of capacity crowd. Peak are proud to be involved with Fever from inception in 2008. It’s a privilege and honour to be part of and we couldn’t be more proud.

Sarah was accepted into the ‘EDS Echo Pediatrics Australia Course’ in October for 8 weeks. Aimed to build some local networks and increase awareness and management of Hypermobility syndromes in the Paediatric population. Hypermobility syndromes including Ehlers Danlos syndromes is an area of special interest for Sarah Bissett at Peak Podiatry!

We began the decent into the end of the year by running a session at North Perth Physio on ‘Tibialis Posterior Dysfunction & Plantar Pressure’.

Something special about pushing into September! Great to be at the club this time of year.

We went through the ups and downs of the mask saga, along with all other practices and health clinics in WA. Showcasing our limited-edition reusable #peak masks! It wasn’t too much longer before the masks were no longer mandated but encouraged.

October brought us into Award Season – first up was the Doig Medal 2022 for Fremantle Dockers Football Club. We congratulated Andy Bradshaw as a very worthy winner. And a big congratulations to all around good guy Dave Mundy. What he has achieved shouldn’t be underestimated.

The Perth Marathon came in fast and we saw numerous patients throughout the year work their way up to the run. Our Peak Friend & Parient, Di, smashed her personal best with an outstanding race yesterday and she even made it into Peak the very next day to show us her bling, alongside a post-race tune up.

We were invited to the Health Professional Evening at The Athletes Foot in Karrinyup to end our October shenanigans.

Sri Lankan cricket star Binura Fernando come into Peak for a tune up whilst in Perth, before heading back to Sri Lanka for t20 tournament.

Peak’s biggest biennial night was finally here after months and months of preparation. We were delighted to host Perth’s Sports Medicine elite for a wonderful evening overseen by Simon Beaumont, topped off with a star studded all female guest speaker panel in Courtney Bruce (Netball), Kara Antonio (AFL), and Nina Kennedy (Pole Vault).

We ended our year with an end of year Christmas party to celebrate with our team and families all together.
